Serving Franklin Since 2018
Intermission Cafe is a proud part of the Franklin School for the Performing Arts’ thoughtful renovation of the former Franklin News building. Nestled at the back of the historic Felix Cataldo Block, owned by the Ranieri Family and now fully occupied by FSPA, Intermission brings a fresh, vibrant energy to downtown Franklin.

As the renovation progressed, the project grew in both scope and vision. “We began to uncover beautiful brick walls, magnificent original windows, and old wooden floors that I thought could be lovingly restored,” reflects Raye Lynn Mercer, FSPA’s founder and director. These discoveries inspired the space’s unique character, giving Intermission an artsy, eclectic vibe that blends historic charm with modern style.

Raye Lynn envisioned more than just a cafe; she wanted to create a hip, welcoming spot with an entertaining menu that offers a variety of options. Whether you’re stopping in for a coffee break, a casual lunch, or a light dinner, Intermission aims to provide downtown Franklin with a warm, aesthetically pleasing environment where community members can relax, connect, and recharge.
